House update

We are so excited about getting started with this house. However I just got quotes for plumbing and appliances....man that's a lot of money....LOL

I will say, when they framed it up....I thought the carpenter misfigured because it looked SMALL. I have since changed my mind, it definitely is big enough! :)

All of the footings are dug, plumbing roughed in, termite treatment, and plastic down, just got to add electrical then concrete will be poured Wednesday!!

Not sure you can tell, but that is Jake standing close to where the front door will be.

this is where the fireplace will go

there is my husband and father in law putting the metal building/barn up.

Look at my talented husband saving us some money. We need as much of that as possible.

Jake is 5!!!

Jake we love you so much! You make our lives complete. You provide us with so much entertainment...LOL!

I must say, these past 5 years have flown by. I've enjoyed every minute of it, but wish I could slow time down a little so my kids didn't grow up so fast.
The following pictures were taken by Kasey Stringer.  www.kaseystringerphotography.com

Look at that face, ain't it CUTE!

See those missing teeth....well they didn't come out on their own.
The first one was broken off when he bit a bicycle tire...yeah a bicycle tire! So, I had to take him to the dentist to have the rest pulled out. A few months later, he came out of the bathroom and started to dance to the movie Rio he was watching and his feet flew out from under him and he hit his mouth on the floor....another trip to the dentist.
ALL BOY! :)

The year sure was hard on him while he was 4, maybe 5 will be better...LOL

We agreed on the Super Hero party many months ago. I was talking to Rod about needing to find Jake something to wear for his birthday photo session. Jake spoke up and said....Um, my Captain America costume is hanging in my closet.
LOL
We compromised and he agreed to wear his shirt for some pics and then change into the costume. I think the pictures turned out GREAT!

I will be posting a blog of his birthday party soon so check back :)

Mallory turns 9

As most of you know, we fly by the seat of our pants sometimes...LOL. I'm not for sure if we could get anything done if we weren't crunched for time. My sister decided last month to have Mallory a swimming party but it rained, so she said she would reschedule it. She finally was able to give her a party this Friday (which was decided earlier in the week....so we are sorry if anyone was left out on being invited cause no invitations were sent out). Sorry if you are getting lost following me :). Kandace called me Thursday evening and asked what time I was going to bed. Well.....before she said anything else, I knew she was wanting something :). She was about to make tye die cupcakes and wanted some help. She mixed up white cake mix and then separated the batter into 4 different bowls. She then used Wilton gel dye to dye the cake. She then carefully poured each of the four batters into each cupcake liner to resemble tie dye. She did great on the cupcakes, then thats where I came in. She bought the big tub of Wilton icing from WalMart (we usually make our own icing, but this was quicker and it tasted good). I dyed 4 separate bowls of icing...1 red, 1 green, 1 yellow, and 1 purple. I then used a pastry bag with a big star tip. I then carefully put a small amount of purple down in the pasty bag and smeared it to the side, then proceeded doing the same with the other colors. After I used all four colors, I started over with purple again, slowly filling the pastry bag until all the icing was used. Then I piped it on each cupcake and this is the result :)

super strong Jake :)

More pics of Jana's birthday

Here is Jana's awesome Peppa Pig cake made by Heather Bailey from Social Bites of Ruston - www.socialbitesofruston.com

Did you know...you can't find Peppa Pig party supplies ANYWHERE in the US. You heard me! I only found some online from the U.K.!! The shipping was more that the party supplies....LOL.
So...you know me, my baby had to have something to match her theme. I printed off coloring pages from the internet then designed a front/back and made a coloring book for the party favore. Much better than candy right? :) The pictures on the book were taken by Kasey Stringer - www.kaseystringerphotography.com

Like I don't have enough to do in a day....I thought Jana needed some cupcakes to take to the babysitters to share with her friends. So, at 9 p.m. one night I baked the cupcakes then let them cool then was decoratin 'Peppa' on the cupcakes until after midnight. Sometimes I wish I was a slacker when it came to things like this.

Last but not least, the set up for the party. I had a vision of cutting out a sun and clouds from poster paper. Well, my lovely friend Cyndi (AKA Crayon Princess on Etsy and Facebook) couldn't let that happen. She called me early that week to let me know my 'stuff' was ready. THANK Cyndi!
I hope you enjoyed looking at Jana's Peppa Pig party as much as I enjoyed hosting it!!

Peppa Pig

Who would think a 2 year old would know what kind of birthday party they wanted.... I was planning Jana a Pinkalcious birthday forher 3rd birthday for couple of months. Right before I needed to design the invitation, Jana began telling me that she was having a Peppa Pig Party. For those of you who don't know Peppa Pig, you should look it up....it is really cute.

An update on our family....

I hope you all enjoy my posts as I begin my blog adventure. We have had a lot of things going on in our family, thanks to God. We recently sold our home and have moved back in 'the trailer' (that is where Rod and I first lived after we were married). The builders plan to start on our house next week...so we need extra prayers...lol
Jana turned 3 years old on May 12 and she chose to have a Peppa Pig party, I will share photos of that soon. Jake just turned 5!!! Can you believe it?! He will start Kindergarten this year and Jana will start 3 year old Pre-K. I just thought we were busy before, I'm not sure what we will do with both of them in school. :)

I was going to share a few pictures, but our satellite internet is not cooperating (thats what we get for living in the sticks I guess, but there are so many other great things so its ok)
